ERRATUM: The previous headline said, “MINT Multimedia student behind the BENCH tribute, #SupportLocal”. The headline is now changed to “MINT Multimedia student the photographer behind the BENCH tribute, #SupportLocal” (edited July 2, 2020 at 9:45 AM).

This is to correct the notion that the student, Kimberly Montes, IS NOT the person who came up with the said campaign. She was only tapped to be the photographer for the BENCH campaign (see first paragraph).

The author expresses her apology for the error.

MINT College Multimedia student, Kimberly Montes, was the photographer behind BENCH’s tribute to their frontliners in the series #SupportLocal. Her photos featured the top retail brand’s hardworking employees.

This campaign is not the first BENCH project for Montes. Her first official work for the brand was during the Ternocon 2020 event. She and fellow student-photographers were part of the official documentation team through the suggestion of MINT College Fashion program adviser, Ms. Maggie Gineta.

“I started shooting [for] fashion noong nag-take ako ng Fashion Events elective under Ms. Maggie Gineta. She's really hands-on, at dinadala niya talaga kami sa mga fashion shows, from press conferences, fittings, rehearsals and mismong shows. They [BENCH] saw my backstage photos during the recent Ternocon. From there, nakabuo ako ng portfolio,” Montes said.

After impressing the team of the top local retail brand, Montes started receiving calls for their campaign projects, and one of which is for the #SupportLocal series.

“It was challenging and fun. I am grateful because they trust me to shoot the whole series alone. They also let me pick and edit the photos I took. Sobrang inspiring to work with the frontliners, and it's really an honor to capture their stories,” Montes shared.
