This collaboration between Prestige and MINT College was made possible by the joint effort of Multimedia Arts Program Head Lizza Gutierrez, and faculty Dulzzi Gutierrez.
Under this partnership, MINT college and senior high students taking up Product and Packaging, and Materials classes were tapped to develop prototype applications that made use of an eco-friendly line of paper products. These prototypes will be further developed and eventually, marketed.
Last November 26, 2019, the different groups that presented their pitches for the new product line for Prestige origami kit were awarded.
The origami kit makes use of a special fold called the Golden Venture Fold. It is a type of folding that is used for 3D origami. The size of the excess paper cut-outs was perfect since these could be further cut into smaller rectangular units to create the needed paper units for the origami kit. Prestige helps in caring for the environment.
They have paper that are milled through responsible forestation and manufacturing efforts by their partners. Having a product like the origami kit is another way for them to help the environment so that the excess paper cut-outs they have do not go to waste. Moreover, they also had a clearly defined target market for this project. From the onset, they wanted to target young children and for the product to be an educational tool.
