MINT College is undeniably thriving this year.
A new campus, back-to-back wins in business competitions, major art projects fulfilled, and flourishing careers for our resident artists have filled the first half of this school year.
These young people have spent a large chunk of their waking hours in school. This is why teachers have a crucial role in guiding them as much as their own parents. With this in mind, last February 21, MINT's Guidance Office, led by Professor Ruth Garcia, conducted a seminar for the faculty to help them accommodate students who might have been diagnosed with clinical behavioral or learning problems.
As for advice, Chong shared that “learning doesn’t stop inside the classroom.” She emphasized the importance of meeting different people and interacting with them, because they can teach you new things. She also added that “failure is good,” as it allows ideas to improve and bring them closer to their goal.
To play is to engage, to create, to interact. MINT students are undoubtedly a creative bunch. In a school that encourages freedom to push past limitations of making things happen, the students learned to create amazing works that does not only catch attention but keeps them.
With this enthusiasm, a YouTube channel is created to become their “playground” where they can try out new ways to make. This is a platform where MINT students can fully express themselves and find people who can relate to them.
