“I am amazed with what I saw. Nakakatuwa na ang pulido ng mga gawa ninyo,” said Karen Ong, the general manager of Prestige Paper Products after she and her team had spent an afternoon meeting with groups of students who presented various paper applications that made use of Prestige paper products.
This collaboration between Prestige and MINT College was made possible by the joint effort of Multimedia Arts Program Head Lizza Gutierrez, and faculty Dulzzi Gutierrez.
Under this partnership, MINT college and senior high students taking up Product and Packaging, and Materials classes were tapped to develop prototype applications that made use of an eco-friendly line of paper products. These prototypes will be further developed and eventually, marketed.
“Where do I start?,” asked Arvie Cheng, Multimedia Arts student, in jest when asked about his experience in working on this project for Prestige. “We want our suggestions to help the brand [move] forward, so from conceptualizing to actually enacting our ideas, which is from words into visuals, we want to be thorough with it.”
Eezh Archangel, also a Multimedia Arts student, agreed with Cheng that the actual conceptualization was the most challenging part. In this class, they were tasked to visualize and design not only how the product should be, but its branding as well. They formulated names for the prototypes, designed logos, and conceived the packaging and other branding collaterals too.
