ON a regular day, MINT College is a cozy and lively campus, with students rushing to get to their classes or to finish their projects.
But then, Halloween came early to MINT when the “CARNEVIL” arrived on October 18. Things suddenly turned frightening - what was once well-lit hallways turned dark and creepy; red and black streamers covered the walls; and cobwebs covered the glass doors. For a day, MINT became a nightmarish carnival with students, faculty members and staff turning into ghouls, monsters, and the living dead.
This year’s Halloween party wasn’t only about “tricks” but “treats” as well. MINT Pet Project, MINT’s pro-animal rights organization, spearheaded a fund-raising campaign for MBY Pet Rescue and Sanctuary. This nonprofit group rescue and take in strays and neglected pets until they’re fit enough for adoption.

Together with other MINT organizations like the MINT Junior Marketing Association, MINT MMA Creatives, Photography Club, MINT Riffs, MINT Blitz, and MINTeatro, they raised around P26,500 for donation.
There were food stalls, carnival games, face painting, and a video gaming room for MINT’s spooky crowd to enjoy. MINT Pet Project also put up an inquiry booth for those interested to know more about MBY, and a stall where they sold various merchandise.
Another attraction was the wildly popular “FUN House”—a makeshift haunted house—which was a true scarefest inside a dark and silent maze. The MINTeatro dressed in their horrifying best, gave students and faculty a fright.
To cap the Halloween party, MINT’s in-house talents performed at the “The Freakshow”, a two-set live performance by artists from Herba Buena, MINT’s official record label. Pauline Cueto, Cid Palma, Jorik Katalbas, Jellie Villanueva, Elise Huang, Syd Hartha, Izzy Mariano and EJ De Perio sang their original songs and gave outstanding performances to a delighted MINT audience .
The CARNEVIL gave MINT College and their furry friends at MBY a truly spook-tacular time. W
