WE’RE moving to a new location!

Last October 1, MINT College officially inked a deal for a new campus at Silver City 1A, Ortigas Ave., Pasig City.

Silver City is part of a newly re-mastered development called ‘Ortigas East’ (formerly Frontera Verde). This development by Ortigas & Company is along C-5 in Pasig, Ortigas Avenue and Julia Vargas Avenue, covering 16 hectares of residential, commercial, retail, education and open spaces. Soon, a greenery park would be available across the building, to be developed by Ayala Land and SM Malls.

The new MINT location is currently under construction to prepare the new facilities. It will be fully opened on August 2019, just in time for the start of school year 2019-2020.

The WEAVE team decided to visit the new site and conduct a cover photo shoot there, together with three MINT students: Louise Anog, SHS Multimedia Arts; Iolo Caparos, SHS Computer Science; and EJ De Perio, Music Business Management.

Asked about her thoughts on the new space for the campus, Louise exclaimed, “it’s big! Although I’ll miss the projects we did at our old campus, I’m already imagining what can we do here.”

The MINT campus has murals painted by the students at every blank space available. These artworks, usually designed by Multimedia Arts students like Louise, have made the flagship location a hip and casual environment for its students.

As for EJ, he looks forward having two recording studios to accommodate the growing number of young musicians at MINT, who are already active in the OPM scene. “Another studio for a bigger recording booth and new equipment,” he elaborates.

MINT has a lot of talented students like EJ  who are encouraged and guided to turn their passion into a stable career even while studying.

Meanwhile, Iolo has something different in mind, “for me, this new space means new people studying here. I have found motivation to pursue my dreams here, so I want new students to feel that too.”

Talented students like Iolo, EJ and Louise are offered academic and talent scholarships by MINT College. These opportunities give them the chance to pursue their education and experience MINT’s curriculum that is centered on the values of creativity, collaboration and community, and become empowered individuals ready to thrive in the actual world after.

A lot is in store for MINT students come next year, and with this new campus, MINT hopes their students will find even more inspiration and motivation  to create and collaborate as they pursue their passions. W
