The 80-seater Mint Playhouse is a multi-faceted theater that can also act as a lecture hall and broadcast studio. It welcomes film fests, stage plays and symposiums for students, professors and guests, while its studio facilities are used by Film & Communications Management, Music Business Management and Applied Arts & New Media, Theater Arts & Communications students for recorded and live-streaming video projects.
• The MINT Playhouse is a venue for the Theater Arts program to hold events and performances related to their department. Original production “MINT Knows” lecture series was conceptualized and realized by the Theater Arts department using the Playhouse as the main venue. Accomplished actors of the stage have guested on this series such as Mig Ayesa (Rock of Ages lead-West End, London, Decca Records recording artist); Monique Wilson (Miss Saigon lead-West End, London) and Dan Domenech (Rock of Ages lead-Broadway, New York). Student productions such as “Isolation Room” have also been featured here.
• The Playhouse has also served as a venue for our Music Business students to show off their musical talent and skills.
• The Playhouse has seen many special film and video related events. A film faculty member was also able to use the Playhouse as the venue for an exclusive screening of his feature film, which has garnered awards in multiple international film festivals. Students have also been able to launch music videos along with musical artists at the Playhouse.
