Last November 8, MINT College celebrated the exemplary performance of select students at Prevue 2018: The MINT Student Honor Show. The event is an annual awarding show and portfolio showcase attended by school officials and parents.

This year, MINT introduced two new awards for senior high school students. Students with exceptional scholastic performances were awarded with Citations for Academic Excellence. Certificates for Outstanding Contribution to the MINT Community were also given to students who contributed significantly by being productive members of the school.

“Every year we are excited to celebrate the creative output as well as the academic performance of our students! We hold these events to highlight this and invite the parents to join us in honoring their achievements,” said Executive Vice President Hendrik Kiamzon.

The event opened with cocktails and performances by MINT students: Syd Hartha Chua, Meg Mangoba, EJ De Perio and Cheenee Gonzalez, and Elise Huang and Sam De Leon. Guests were also entertained by a short improv show by some members of One and a Half Men, and a Flamenco performance by Angel Gomez (dancer), with Alex Alcaraz Fernández (guitar and vocals), Jean Paul Zialcita (percussion), and David Endriga (vocals).

President Baltazar Endriga also welcomed the awardees and guests and reminded them about the culture of excellence that the students are building within the school. He mentioned the recent awards that MINT students brought home from competitions outside the school, like the adobo Design Awards in 2017 and the MYX Choice for Best Music Video Award that MINT won from Himig Handog.

This year, the Computer Science and Information Technology students and faculty worked together to make use of the Augmented Reality technology to make the gallery more immersive. It also helped MINT students to promote their online portfolios through links to their websites and social media accounts. They also introduced the Prevue app, which is downloadable through the Google Playstore and Apple Store. The event app provided guests with information on the displayed graphic work of the students, and a map of the school.
